Davis Concludes 14 County Tour of 13th District Friday in Bond County
TAYLORVILLE- Rodney Davis, Republican candidate for the 13th Congressional District, has been named to the National Republican Congressional Committee’s “Young Guns” program. The program, founded by Reps. Eric Cantor (R-VA), Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), and Paul Ryan (R-WI) in the 2007-2008 election cycle, is the primary method for recruiting strong candidates for open-seat races like the 13th District.
“Rodney Davis has met a series of rigorous goals that will put him in a position to win on Election Day,” said NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions (R-TX). “The momentum behind his campaign is proof-positive that Americans are fed up with Nancy Pelosi policies that spend too much, tax too much, and borrow too much at the expense of hard-working Illinois families. Rodney Davis is leading the pack as Republicans continue to send a loud and clear message that we will hold Democrats accountable for their unpopular partisan agenda.”
Meanwhile, Davis will meet with residents of Bond County Friday, concluding his initial tour of all 14 counties in the district since earning the nomination in May.
“Everywhere I go in the 13th District, the message I hear is clear,” said Davis. “People are upset with the disconnection they feel with Washington, with the out of control spending, and the overreaching of the power of the federal government. I plan to be a leader at addressing needed spending cuts, debt control, and helping our small business owners create jobs.”
Since becoming Republican nominee for the 13th District on May 19, Rodney Davis has worked aggressively to show residents from all corners of the district that he will be an open, accessible, and connected Congressman.
“I’m a guy who shares the values and understands the needs and issues facing the 13th District,” said Davis. “We need common sense representation in Washington, and I know I can provide that.”This entry was posted in Announcements, News. Bookmark the permalink.
